Collins’ Hedgehog concept (2001) is the intersection of three circles:
- What can you be the best in the world at?
- What drives your economic engine?
- What are you most passionate about?
Then there are these two tiny quotes in the section that caught my attention and confirmed for me that I’m in the process of pivoting:
“The Hedgehog concept is not a goal to be the best…It is an understanding of what you can be the best at.”
and
“If you cannot be the best in the world at your core business, then your core business cannot form the basis of your Hedgehog Concept.”
While I pivot towards online training, I will always remember where I’m best: in-person.
